But she launched into a screed of what she hates about love

But she obsessed about the things that she hates about love

Those wild nights with fevered appetites,
Alluring only towards one another
Forging sublime new passionate rhymes
And never thinking about any other

I begged for her sufferance but she turned me away
And then noted a new thing that she hates about love
I tried to give her the promise of some better way
But she couldn’t see a day when she'd hate less than love

Things monotonous, a less-than-passionate kiss
Doing nothing of interest together
Just familiar scenes and automated routines
Actually chatting about the weather

She said I would forfeit one way or another,
She would put me on that rack and go and hire Barry's brother
To twist ‘til I'm ten feet tall, resist and I'm against the wall
